The natural sciences are not necessarily known for deepening and strengthening the spiritual connection to the earth and nature.
However, this Daily Flow exercise uses a scientific finding to achieve exactly that:
As part of photosynthesis, all green plants produce the oxygen we breathe.
We need oxygen to live because the mitochondria of our cells (small cell organelles in the cells of our body) need oxygen to obtain energy from food.
This produces carbon dioxide, which in turn the plants need for photosynthesis.
This creates a cycle of give and take between the plants and the animals. So also between the trees and us humans.
In this exercise, you focus on this circuit and connect it to your breathing. This creates the "breathing wheel", with which you can connect more deeply with the trees (and other plants), ground yourself and thus get back into the flow.
You can do the exercise on your next walk in the woods with a specific tree, or at home while focusing on the trees or plants as a whole.
The process is very simple:
- Stand upright and relaxed, knees slightly bent.
- Breathe in and imagine yourself absorbing the oxygen of the plants like a gift. Feel the gratitude that arises in you.
- Exhale and do so in the knowledge that you are offering the carbon dioxide to the plants as a gift.
- Breathe in and out in this way until the whole process feels "round" to you. This creates a cycle of give and take, the breathing wheel.
The most important thing in this exercise is the awareness in which you perform the exercise. Basically, the exercise activates two of the super resources that you may already know from another Daily Flow exercise: gratitude and the positivity resonance (the feeling of doing something good for others).
And both contribute to more flow and lightness and can quickly bring you back to your inner center.
