In the Hawaiian Huna Philosophy the so-called "blessings" play an important role. In English, "to bless" means to bless someone or something.
In Huna philosophy, however, this does not mean blessing as we know it from religion.
Blessing in the Huna philosophy means rather to compliment someone or something in thought or aloud.
The theory behind it:
By giving compliments, we focus on what we compliment – and at the same time strengthen this quality in ourselves.
Curt:
You can strengthen every aspect of your life by complimenting them whenever you see that aspect somewhere in someone or in something else.
An example:
Maybe you just can't find the peace and quiet you want. You could then think about which person you know who radiates this calmness.
And then you compliment this person in your mind or out loud (if you do this in your mind, you can also compliment it several times).
"Hey, I admire you for always staying so calm! That's really a great quality."
Feel the emotion as you give the compliment.
If you do this regularly for a while, you will find that you yourself build up more and more of this serenity – simply because you signal to your subconscious mind through this exercise that this quality is important to you.
By the way, "blessing" and complimenting also works very well in and with nature!
What in nature stands for inner peace and serenity?
Maybe this is a quiet mountain lake for you. You don't have to go to a lonely mountain lake right away, but you could look at pictures of such lakes, for example.
And then you compliment the lake and the energy behind it for lying there so calmly, for its water surface being so nice and quiet and clear, or for being so calm at the lake.
"It's just great how quiet and peaceful such a lake is! Hey, lake, thank you for exuding so much calm. I think that's really great!"
Such compliments could look like this or something similar.
Again, you should repeat the compliments regularly over a period of time to have a noticeable effect.
A few examples from nature with characteristics that they could represent:
- Bamboo is known for its flexibility and can help you discover new ways when you're stuck in a stressful situation
- The lotus flower is a symbol of purity because it simply lets dirt roll off (the "lotus effect")
- Trees stand for strength and earthiness
- Leos are often associated with courage
- Clouds are a symbol of lightness and can help you let go of things that are bothering you
You can probably think of a lot of other things from nature that represent certain characteristics for you.
Have fun giving 😀 compliments !
