A woman hugs a tree with her hands.

Nothing gives you more support in difficult times than a strong shoulder to lean on.

A tree does not have a shoulder, but it is definitely strong.

So if you're really stressed (or even if you're feeling relaxed), why not do something really crazy: hug a tree!

Hugging the tree, or "Tree Huggin" as the Americans call it, is not as crazy as it seems at first glance.

Anyone who has ever really hugged a tree (or just leaned against a tree) knows that a very special energy flows between you and the tree.

Don't you think so?

Then try hugging an advertising column. I'm sure you'll 😉 notice a difference.

The energy you feel when you lean trustingly against a tree or even hug it is suitable to strengthen us internally and – in the truest sense of the word – to lift us up.

And if you're still skeptical, it's scientifically proven that trees emit a number of substances that have a very positive effect on our stress experience and health (the so-called terpenes and phytoncides).

And guess where the concentration of these substances is highest? That's right, at a height of 1-2m above the ground in the trunk area of the tree. So exactly where we have our nose when hugging the tree!
