A wonderful exercise to center yourself and come into your center is the one from the Hawaiian Huna Philosophy Piko Piko – breathing. I have given you the basic form of it in this micro-exercise (the link opens in a new window so that you can return to this exercise).

However, there are also a number of variants of Piko Piko breathing that incorporate elements from nature into the exercise.

You can use these variants, for example, to dissolve feelings of stress, to bring your energy up or to strengthen a certain characteristic of a natural element in you.

A nice application of these Piko Piko variants is also to simply deepen the connection to the nature around you.

In this micro-exercise, we'll look at how you can use Piko Piko breathing to dissolve feelings of stress.

If you don't know the Piko Piko breathing yet, then be sure to take a look at the micro exercise with the Infinitive at.

Dissolve feelings of stress

Stress arises in the head, but it is felt in the body. Basically, every feeling we have is accompanied by a body awareness.

And that also applies to feelings of stress.

So if you are currently in a stressful phase, take a moment to reflect on how much you feel stressed on a scale of 1 to 10 in relation to your stress trigger.

A 1 means that you are not stressed at all, a 10 means that you are maximally stressed. Where is your value?

Now pay attention to where in the body you perceive the stress when you feel stressed. You may feel a weight on your shoulders or a pull in your chest when you think about the stressful situation.

Then, as you inhale, focus on that body awareness.

Just like with the basic form, you can also place a hand on the area to better focus on the area where you feel the body awareness.

When you exhale, you then concentrate on something that is as far away as possible. This can be the clouds in the sky, the horizon or a row of treetops from trees a little further away.

When you breathe in, you concentrate on your body perception again.

Repeat for 1 to 2 minutes – whatever feels right for you.

Now feel inside yourself again how pronounced your feeling of stress is now on the scale from 1 to 10, remember: A 1 means that you are not stressed at all, a 10 means that you are maximally stressed.

Most likely, your value will have decreased at least somewhat. Every small change is a step in the right direction and shows your subconscious mind that the perceived stress can be changed.

From the point of view of the Huna philosophy, the exercise stimulates the flow of energy in your system, so that blocked energies related to your feeling of stress can flow again. Flow ).

So getting back into the flow has a very practical meaning here!
