From the Hawaiian Huna Philosophy comes a meditation with the beautiful name "Stillpoint Meditation" (translated into something like "resting point meditation"), with which you can relax very quickly and find your center again.

The background of the Stillpoint meditation:

The Huna philosophy knows 7 power points on the human body, similar to the chakras known from the Far Eastern culture.

However, the location of these points of force is different:

  • Head tip (skull roof)
  • Left and right shoulder
  • Heart
  • Left and right side of the pelvis
  • Navel

In the Stillpoint meditation, you focus on these power points one after the other as you breathe in and out in a relaxed manner.

You can maintain concentration on each of these points for one or more breaths before moving on to the next point – whichever feels most appropriate for you.

Then switch to the next point.

So:

Inhale, concentration on the tip of the head. Leave the concentration on the tip of the head for one or more breaths. Then with the next breath concentration on the left shoulder. Again maintain concentration for one or more breaths. Then do the same one after the other, concentrating on the right shoulder, the heart, the left side of the pelvis, the right side of the pelvis and finally on the belly button.

After a complete round, you can do a short intermediate check. How are you feeling? If necessary, you can do one or more more rounds of the Stillpoint meditation.

Again, do it in a way that feels right for you.

Stillpoint meditation can make you centered and calmer again very quickly. It is therefore also well suited for all occasions in which you want to relax and center yourself before an exercise (e.g. for the exercise "Get inspired!", which you can also find here in the Daily Flow exercises).
